Is the Starter Plan Really Free?

Yes. It’s absolutely free.

UENI’s Starter plan is completely free to use and includes no setup fees or hidden costs. We won’t even ask you for any credit card or payment details, so there’s no way we can charge you.

Why? Because at we want to help all small businesses get online and have the chance to compete, and we know that some businesses cannot afford to spend very much on a website.

And, of course, our free Starter subscription also provides customers with an easy way to test our services and see how they like it without having to make a single payment. 

As your business grows and you find yourself needing more from your page, we have a range of subscription plans that offer more flexibility and functionality, but we still try to keep small businesses (and their budgets) in mind.

The Starter plan has no expiration period – if you like, you can stay on the Starter Plan forever at no cost.

Of course, we find that most businesses find the Starter Plan a great way to help their business find their footing, but for businesses that are starting to see success, or want to have a fully functional online shop, the Plus, Reputation, or eCommerce plan are better suited to helping their business grow.

What Do I Need to Sign Up?

To sign up for UENI, you don’t need much more than a name for your business, an address and an idea. But, like any good recipe, what you get out of the website depends on what you put in – and we’ve seen over and over again that our best-performing clients have three things in common:

When you head over to the UENI start page and get ready to put your business on the map, we’ll ask you a series of questions about your business: what type of company you are, where you’re located, what you provide, and more.

The more information you give us about your business, the better job our team can do building your website.

After you’ve provided the details our AI will create the page and our Content Team will give it a polish, and after a day or so we’ll send you an email letting you know your site is live.

How Do I Edit My Website?

Once your website is ready, you’ll be able to edit your website by logging in to your UENI Editor, but we get the feeling that our current and potential customers are asking for guidance, examples, and other suggestions about how to get the most out of their website.

Can I See Some Example Pages?

Of course! We stand behind our websites, and we know that people like to see what they can get before signing up, or even want to get some ideas about how they can take their already-existing pages to the next level.

Example Pages on Our Premium Plans

When you’re on one of our Premium Plans, you have much more power available to you – from a fully-featured shopping cart to custom domains and more template options for your page. While the full list of details is available here, we want to show off some examples of just how different a Premium page can look.

Businesses like Craft Stores are great candidates for the Natural theme because a big part of their appeal comes from the amazing things that they create. They’re so visually striking the absence of a mapped location is barely noticeable.

Our Photographer example highlights the flexibility of the Modern Theme: we’ve used the Promotions Tag to take the place of the About Us section to make way for the centrepiece of the site: the Portfolio.

Not only does our example Animal Shelter feature an eye-catching promotion, as well as custom amenities, and cute animal photos, it’s also a great way to see how different a page can look on your computer, your tablet, and your phone. We definitely recommend looking at it on a couple of different devices if you can.

All of Your Domain Questions

When people think of a website, they often think of the domain: the word (or string of words) that you type into your browser in order to get to the website in question. As a result, we get many questions about what we do and do not offer regarding domains.

Does a UENI Plan include a domain for free?

Our Basic, Plus and Reputation Plans include the option to create and use a free custom domain for as long as you keep the UENI plan.

Our Starter Plan does not include a free domain. Instead, your website will be hosted on our UENIweb servers (the domain will be yourbusiness.ueniweb.com).

Can I use my own domain name?

If you’re on a Premium plan and already have your own domain, it’s very easy to connect it to your UENI account.

When was UENI founded?

UENI was founded in 2014 to provide small businesses with an easy, low-cost way to get online and get new customers. We saw that the biggest pain points for small business owners was that they don’t have much time to build their online presence, they don’t have much money to spend on digital advertising, and they don’t want to navigate the complexity of what it means to be online today.

Can I sell my services and  products on UENI?

While every plan, including the Starter Plan, will let you set prices and sell products or services, our Plus and Reputation plan offer more fully-featured options for sales, especially our Shopping Cart.

Customers that need an even more extensive eCommerce platform should take advantage of our eCommerce solution.

When is the right time to start using UENI with my business?

Now is the time! Every business, no matter how big or how small, how new or how old, should maintain a strong presence online. 80% of consumers use search engines to search local providers, so if your business is not one of the top results, you’re missing out on new customers.

How will my business appear on Google?

Through UENI’s special partnership with Google, we’re able to make sure it stands out from the competition, by appearing as a verified business on Google Search, Google Maps and Google My Business. This means that customers will see you as a trusted and reliable professional, and will be more likely to choose your services.

Are you going to be number one on Google the day after you create your page? No, but anyone promising you that is full of it. Getting onto the first page of Google is a long journey. We’ll give you the keys and the car, but ultimately it’s up to you to drive it.

Will I need any other tools or software to use UENI?

Not at all. UENI is not your average website builder, where you have to use several different tools and plugins. With us, you only have to log in to one place to manage your website, bookings, domain, e-mail, professional listings and directories, and much more, all from your UENI Hub.

Can I communicate with customers through my UENI page?

Yes, you can! Your customers can get in touch with you by calling, using the send a message button, making a booking or purchasing a product, or connecting with you via our WhatsApp integration if you want to speak live.

No matter which plan you’re on, online bookings, sales, quote requests and direct communication via WhatsApp with customers are included. And to make sure you never miss an opportunity, you receive unlimited e-mail alerts whenever you receive a request from a customer.

Do I have to pay for web hosting?

No. All our plans include free, unlimited hosting on Amazon AWS servers, so you can be sure your website is secure, always available, and loads super fast.

Do I also get a professional e-mail address?

Yes. Our Basic, Plus, and Reputation plans include a free e-mail address with your business name (eg. info@yourname.com), already pre-populated with templates you can use to communicate with your customers. Our Premium customers can have up to four email addresses associated with their custom domain to allow for professional flexibility.

What about maintenance, SEO updates and all the technical upkeep?

UENI has a team of tech experts who take care of all the maintenance and search-engine optimisation updates. You don’t have to lift a finger.

What are the other platforms where my business will be listed?

UENI is a team of small business experts. That means that we know better than anyone what are the key platforms for each industry to make each business stand out.

For our Plus and Reputation customers, we will help list you in dozens of high-traffic platforms, depending on what your business does, ranging from Foursquare and Facebook Places to Google Maps and Apple Maps, as well as navigation apps such as Uber and TomTom.
